1. Building a Conservation
Movement
The CCO has produced several reports and strategy papers related to
building a stronger conservation movement. The more recent ones relate to
the We Conserve initiative, which is taking these recommendations and
putting them into practice.
We Conserve: Progress
Report #1 (November, 2005)
This report reviews our early successes in building a stronger
conservation movement, and outlines an ambitious five year agenda.
We Conserve (July 2005)
We Conserve is the challenge paper
that lays out the framework for a new united conservation movement in
Ontario. It was supported by an online consultation process at
www.weconserve.ca

Ontario's
Conservation Summit 2005: Challenge Paper
This paper is a who-does-what listing of NGO conservation programs.
The content of this report has been incorporated into our background pages
in the We Conserve section of this
website.
Greening Ontario: A Strategy for
Revitalizing the Conservation Movement
(June 2003)
This
strategy paper outlined an approach for building a stronger non-governmental conservation
movement. It was prepared following an Eco Summit in 2002 and
preceded the blackout of August 14, 2003 that put conservation back on the
map in Ontario.

Missing Values
In the late
1990's, the CCO initiated a series of reports that
analyzed and compared the commitments of Ministry Business
Plans with their Statements of Environmental Values.
The reports highlighted weaknesses in the government's
ability to integrate environmental values into its annual
planning and priorities.
