Introduction Want to know what Ontario is doing to create a healthy environment?

We take the major environmental activities and show how they will help meet our environmental goals.  In many cases, you should also notice some glaring gaps! Our factsheets also help identify some of the priorities for attention.

Formal Government Strategies There are a handful of formally-approved provincial government strategies.  We have summarized them and provided links to government websites for further details.
The Eco-Tool Box This page summarizes the types of regulatory, economic, and voluntary tools that can be used in developing an integrated approach to solving environmental problems.
Principles GreenONTARIO: Strategies for a Healthy Environment is a short background paper that explains some of the underlying principles for the Green Ontario campaign.

Introduction The introductory page gives you an index of the various sections of the directory.  If you are not sure what category an organization would fall under, you can also try the search function on the home page.
Federal Government Links to federal government sites, such as federal departments, The Ontario Region of Environment Canada, the Sustainability Commissioner, the National Round Table on the Environment and Economy, and federal political parties.

Index Green On. News is an online newsletter that will give update you on Ontario's environmental strategies, new initiatives, major upcoming events, and new additions to the Green Ontario web site.

The Conservation Council of Ontario

The CCO The Conservation Council is an association of major provincial organizations and environmental leaders

Whereas the Green Ontario site is intended to document Ontario's current environmental initiatives, the Conservation Council provides a forum for critical analysis and public review of Ontario's existing environmental strategies.  Our goal is to identify areas for improvement and foster new initiatives that will help lead to measurable improvements in environmental quality.

Meetings and Events Upcoming meetings and special events of the Conservation Council.
Publications Many of the Conservation Council's publications are available online, including our Missing Values reviews of the Ontario Ministry Business Plans.
